END OF 2008!
So another year is pretty much over but a new year is coming with plenty of exciting things coming up, For a start all the 2009 gear is around now and everything is improving, I've ridden all the new boards by ronix this year, the Bill board is pretty much indistructable, the new Viva rides super consistently with awesome pop and speed into the wake and the All new One rides soo much faster with no drag out in the flats but still has the pop you know form a 3 stage, so far my board of choice for 2009. Footage on these board will be coming in early 2009. Happy New year!!
Thewakeplace.com Filimng with Nick Jones, Kyle Alberts and Alex Brown
Today was an early start heading out with the wakeplace to shoot a little session with friend out in Mount dora about 40mins outside of Orlando and one of my favorite places to go ride given it almost always means big wakes and empty lakes and which is something i've been missing being away from Orlando for the summer, these guys were all killing it, unfortunately we had some unexpected wind which hadn't been around recently it didn't seem to matter as we got some pretty good footage given it was only one set, see thewakeplace.com for the video.
SURF EXPO 2008
The Surf Expo in Orlando took place this past weekend with lots of new gear being released and lots of improvements everywhere. The ronix gear being my favorite looks incredible especially with the new slider base on the Bill board, plus changes in nearly every board to make them better to ride, Danny harfs board in particular looks good in a gloss black, which you've got to creditmassively in the fact he has landed the first and unbelievable 1260. After the expo non saturday night was the red bull wake lab using the new siesitec 2.0 cable system, combine that with the rail set up it was one of the bestshows of wakeboarding ver seen to the public in downtown Orlando.
Alliance Wakeboard magazine and Glass Butter beach Rail Jam
This weekend just passed was almost wiped out by yet more bad weather in the UK, however after Saturday getting cancelled we were blessed with some better weather and the rail jam off Abersoch beach took place. It consisted of three rails and a kicker, A large roof top rail, a gap rail and flatbar, All constructed by the Alliance Team headed by Tim Woodhead who did an amazing job of putting together the whole set up. its was a 16 man head to head competition with 2 jet skis running at the same time so there was always plenty to watch for the crowd. The final result was Eban Escott taking the win with the most consistent riding of the day. I came in 3rd. After the competition there was the partied which went down as funny nights to close off the UK season, followed up the following day with a session on the rail before they get pulled out. Thanks to everyone for the weekend at alliance wakeboard magazine, there probably more to see if you go to their site www.alliancewake.co.uk
Ireland Again!!
Just back from another trip to ireland, probably the most friendly people to entertain you in the world, a good time with lots of coaching clinics with Mastercraft all over the Country, plus the Irish Wake Jam was on, Probably some of the worst weather ever at a contest, the river went up 2ft over sautrday night, but all ended well with a great event given the weather, but all looks set to be bigger next year, Thanks to the guys for bringing all the riders over and congrat to fellow protest team rider Pete Stewart for wining this weekend.
